Plagiarism Policy

Index Academic Journals strictly enforces a plagiarism policy to uphold academic integrity and maintain the originality of published work. The journal permits a maximum similarity index of 15%, which accounts for proper citation and attribution of sources. Any submitted manuscript exceeding this threshold will be subject to review and may be rejected or sent back for revision. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original, with all sources correctly referenced.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s ideas, words, or work without proper acknowledgment, presenting them as one’s own, and thereby violating intellectual property rights and academic integrity.

Types of Plagiarism

The journal considers the following categories of plagiarism:

Full plagiarism refers to the act of using previously published content without making any alterations to the text, idea, or language. Plagiarism is the act of presenting verbatim text from a source as one’s own.

Partial plagiarism refers to the act of incorporating content from other sources and significantly paraphrasing the writing.

Self-plagiarism refers to the act of an author reusing either entire or partial sections of their previously published research. Complete self-plagiarism occurs when an author reuses their own previously published work in a different journal.

Manuscripts that include plagiarized content are in violation of the criteria of excellence, scholarly inquiry, and originality. Therefore, it is required that all authors who submit articles to the journal adhere to ethical norms and refrain from engaging in any sort of plagiarism. Plagiarism is the immoral practice of replicating another person’s previous concepts, procedures, findings, or language without providing explicit recognition of the original author and source. Self-plagiarism is the act of an author using a significant portion of their own previously published work without giving proper references. This might vary from the publication of the same manuscript in many journals to the alteration of a previously published manuscript with additional data.

The journal strongly condemns any unethical behavior such as copying or plagiarism in whatever manifestation. Plagiarism is the act of copying significant chunks of a manuscript from already published materials. The journal employs Turnitin software to conduct plagiarism checks on all submitted publications. Manuscripts that are discovered to be plagiarized during the earliest stages of review are promptly rejected and are not taken into consideration for publishing in the journal. If a manuscript is discovered to have been plagiarized after it has been published, the Editor-in-Chief will initiate a preliminary investigation, maybe with the assistance of a specially formed committee. If the work is determined to have exceeded the accepted boundaries of plagiarism, the journal will notify the author’s Institute/College/University and any relevant Funding Agency. If misbehavior is determined, the journal will publish a statement that is connected both ways online to and from the original manuscript. This statement will acknowledge the plagiarism and include a citation to the plagiarized material. Each page of the PDF will be flagged to indicate the presence of plagiarism in the paper. If the extent of plagiarism is determined, the paper may be formally withdrawn.

Plagiarism includes the reproduction of another person’s work, ideas, or text without appropriate acknowledgment, as well as self-plagiarism, where authors reuse their own previously published content without citation. To safeguard against these violations, the journal employs plagiarism detection tools such as TURNITIN SOFTWARE to scan all submissions. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, whether intentional or accidental, will face immediate action, including rejection or withdrawal from publication consideration.

In cases where plagiarism is detected post-publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article and inform the author’s institution. Authors are encouraged to carefully review their work before submission to ensure compliance with the journal’s policy, maintaining the highest ethical standards of academic research and writing.
